The gathering
She arrived at the river side and sat there thinking about the events of the night before.
She glance into the water and sighed. How did she managed to get herself into this situation? Was she really doing the right thing? What would happen if it went terribly wrong and got caught?
She placed her head between her hands and sighed heavily, she closed her eyes as she tried idly to push the thoughts away, she focused on the sounds around her, the wind blowing gently, the water running in the river and then some footsteps. She heard the footsteps stop right next to her, and knew who it was without even looking at him.
- I thought you wouldn't come.- He said with a quiet voice, she chuckled.
- You always think the worst of everyone.- She said still staring at the water. She got up and looked at the man at her side, he was gazing towards the water, she could see he was uncertain of what to do. He was closing his hand into a fist, just like he did when he was nervous, she reached out for his hand and hold it with both of her hands, he was cold as ice, she gave him a sad stare and squeezed his hand to get his attention.
He hummed and turned his gaze towards her, looked right into her eyes, his stare was not the sad one he had the day before, his eyes were now showing a happiness she didn't knew in him. She smiled.
It would all be all right, no matter what happened, it was going to be all right.
